About Rochelle Park, NJ Real Estate Market

With an area of just 1.02 square miles, Rochelle Park is a small-sized county and a home to around 6,000 people in Bergen County in New Jersey. Sharing its borders with other boroughs of Bergen County, like Lodi, Maywood, Fair Lawn, Saddle Brook and Paramus, Rochelle Park got its recognition as a township in 1929 after an act under New Jersey Legislature got passed.

The township was earlier recognized as Midland Township, for which portions of New Barbadoes Township were taken in 1871. However, in 1929, this township got replaced by Rochelle Park based on the results of a referendum. The township's name seeks inspiration from a port city in France called La Rochelle, and one can see French inspiration in many homes in this part of the New Jersey real estate.

Apart from having the headquarters of companies like United Retail Group and TopCashBack, Rochelle Park also has Westfield Garden State Plaza near its border. The Cornelius Demarest House located in the township was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Some of the old houses in the township have late-19th century Italian architectural style in their design. The township also has Rochelle Park Area for recreational activities and Rochelle Park Swim Club for private members.
